Testing
The test suites and what each checks
| Command | What it checks |
|---|---|
make test-static | Syntax, shellcheck, desktop files, schemas, XML, installer configuration, translations, the website and this documentation being up to date. |
make test-unit | pytest unit tests in tests/unit/. |
make test-smoke | Starts the shell headless and opens every app and Settings page. |
make test-image | Inspects a built ISO: apps, themes, services, boot records. |
make test-boot | Boots the ISO with BIOS and UEFI, checks the session and starts every default app marked yes in config/apps.manifest. Transmission is marked no: a BitTorrent client joining its network from a test VM triggers company firewalls' P2P alerts (the VM's traffic leaves with the host's address). |
make test-interact | Uses the live desktop like a person: clicks, keys, windows. |
make test-install | Installs Aurora in a VM and checks the installed system. |
