Backups

Backing up your files with Backups (Déjà Dup)

Snapshots protect the system; Backups (Déjà Dup) protects your files.

1. Open Backups from Launchpad.
2. Choose the folders to save (Home by default) and to leave out (Trash, Downloads…).
3. Choose where: an external drive, a network folder or a cloud account (Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive through Online Accounts).
4. Turn on automatic backups (daily or weekly). Backups are incremental and can be encrypted with a password.

To restore, open Backups → Restore and pick the date.
